Forensics Club

Current Information: Spring Tournament will be held at Wayne State University on Saturday, April 24. Please refer to the e-mail I sent to participating families for all of the details with regard to our preparation for this event.

Friday 4/30 post tournament sharing and celebration - last meeting of the year.

FEES: We have to pay the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association (MIFA) dues and tournament fees. Split eight ways it comes to $35 per student. (If we do not get a second judge we also have to pay to hire one and that will be another $7.50 each).

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR CLUB

Open for 6th - 8th graders, the forensics club meets every Friday after school until 4:15. Our goals are to learn techniques to improve public speaking and to have fun. We prepare pieces to perform at the fall and spring middle school state forensics tournaments. More information about the tournaments and their rules can be found at the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association's website: www.themifa.org .

The fee for the club is $30 if you participate in one tournament and $45. for both. Checks can be made payable to HVCS.

I am the staff member that sponsors the club, but I consider it to be a student and parent driven activity. I have a sign up sheet with your volunteer options.
